ART CLASSES
A non traditional art class in painting and drawing. 

Affordable, fun, non-traditional art class in painting and drawing for anyone; from beginners to the more experienced.

The classes are designed to help you develop your creativity, artistic skills and style that will benefit you in all aspects of life and learning.

When: Tuesdays – term time only 6.30 pm – 8.30 pm

Cost: $20 per person includes all art materials

About the Class:
Affordable, fun, non-traditional art class in painting and drawing for anyone; from beginners to the more experienced. The classes are designed to help you develop your creativity, artistic skills and style that will benefit you in all aspects of life and learning.

The session focus on learning new skills, colour mixing, broadening knowledge and understanding of the artistic process, interpretation on how we see and understand beauty, personal perspectives, and realities.

Who can come to the classes?
The classes are designed for beginners to intermediates who are over the age of 16.

Access:
The venue does not have access for wheelchairs.
Parking is on the street.

What to Bring:
An A4 visual arts diary;
If you wish, you can bring your Laptop, Ipad or notebook;
You can bring snacks and wine;
You will be advised regarding art materials, what and where to buy, and what to bring to future classes according to your personal needs and projects.

Class rules:
Mobile phones can be left on at low volume, with conversations to be made outside the building.
Those who want to engage in conversation with others or may want to work away from the group may use the downstairs space.

About the Tutors:
The classes will be conducted by artist tutors Jeff Cheyne and Karen Bessell who alternate throughout the term offer a wealth of experience and variety.

Jeff has years of experience; from lecturing in child’s play, running a gallery and studio, being an artist in residence, founding an artist’s cooperative, storytelling. has his art in private and overseas collections, has a passion for experimental art, and community art and nature projects.

Karen educated in the UK with a BA Hons in Contemporary Arts, has worked extensively as an arts educator for over 20 years in community art centres in UK, Sydney and Brisbane.
