When and Where?

Tuesdays evenings from 6.30 to 8.30

Paddington Substation, 150 /Enoggera Terrace Paddington

First night: 

 Attendance is free + you will receive an A4 visual art diary.

What to Bring.

Your art materials and equipment (you will be advised).  

Hands on Art class materials and equipment can be used for a small additional fee.

Cost: 

$10 for the first hour, and $5 for each additional ½ hour

About the classes and what you will learn.

  • The sessions are informal and collaborative. It is all about exploring your creativity and the creative process. It's practical, fun and liberating. Whether you are a beginner or have some art experience we are here to offer tools, techniques and perhaps challenge your thinking to help you find  new ways to explore your art
  • Jeff and Karen will take turns to run the weekly sessions and will cover, drawing and painting exercises, you are invited to bring your own personal projects for advice discussions on skill development and techniques
  • It’s an art club for adults, we want you to feel welcome, uninhibited and confident to explore, create and play.
  • You will learn: New skills, colour mixing, broadening knowledge and understanding of the artistic process, interpretation on how we see and understand beauty personal perspectives, and biases as to what we like and don't in art and why.

Jeff Cheyne – Director, Hands on Art
Jeff is an artist, innovator, writer and storyteller who loves wild places and creative collaboration. With 35 years’ experience in children's creative development and community arts, Jeff's focus is on stimulating personal and group creativity through art.

Karen Bessell – President, Hands on Art. Director, UCreate4kids. Art Tutor for Raw Art

Karen Bessell is a professional contemporary artist with over 30 years’ experience exhibiting and participating in festivals across the UK & Australia. Karen has been an art tutor for 20 years teaching Adults, children of all abilities.
